Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns were cleared of their felony charges Wednesday.
Johns is off the hook altogether and Jefferson faces only a misdemeanor.
LSU coach Les Miles, upon finding out the grand jury’s decision, immediately reinstated the two to the team.
Instantly, message boards lit up with conspiracy theories and hypotheticals about how Jefferson would fit into an LSU offense, which had moved the ball efficiently through the first four games of the season.
For those who voted that Jefferson wouldn’t start but would play throughout the course of the season, you’re the big winner.
Jefferson simply has too much athletic ability to be kept off the field.
He can come in as a great change of pace from time to time, a la a Wildcat quarterback.
But Jarrett Lee is and will continue to be, barring injury, the team’s undisputed starter.
Lee earned the respect and confidence of his teammates and coaches following the initial fallout from Jefferson’s legal escapade and has proven them right through the season’s first month.
Should Jefferson’s role grow to any more than that, Miles better beware.
LSU is looking at its first No.1 ranking since 2007, and should reinstating an embattled and controversial quarterback derail those national championship hopes, the Tiger faithful will be out in full force to express their displeasure.
Les Miles just Goofed this time. No more Boos to the team if we are loyal football fans. However lets don’t turn this into a glory match. Lets play both quarterbacks as needed and I certainly don”t want to see Jarrett Lee on the bench all the time after all he has done for the team. Lets move on ” go tigers ”!
all my friens that are Tiger fans and I do not want to see J. J.(literally) back on that fiels because, #1, we feel he got off and is guilty as hell! # 2 Jarett has proven himself in every way! He is not ony the more reliable quarterback, but he is humble, respected and a better player! We prefer him anyday over Jordan Jefferson whom is all about himself! He never even wanted to turn the ball over to a running back because he is so self centered and wanted the glory for playing the game as a one man team! We are all hoping and pulling for Jarret to do great to day and the whole season. And to Mr Miles,” sometimes it isn’t entirely all about winning” We must keep humility and character in our sports! ….Geaux Jarrett”……..
